Earring Trivia

Do you know if the earrings you are wearing enhance your appearance or do they detract from it?? Hopefully you are a knockout with those babies on?!?!? What a bummer to go to the trouble of wearing earrings and have them detract from your beautiful face. But certain styles really are best suited for you and it's connected with the shape of your face. So first you need to know your face shape. Go on, go look in the mirror. Do you have a round face, a square face, an oval face, or a heart shaped face? Not sure? It's okay to guess...it isn't really a critical issue.

There are three basic earring styles...linear, chandelier, and hoop. Each of these three styles can enhance your features and balance areas that you'd like to downplay. Here's an example. Vertical lines in your earrings will draw the eye upwards and make your features seem longer. Horizontal lines will draw the eye from side to side and accent the width of your face.

So, have you decided what your face shape is yet???

Is it Round?? Vertical lines - elongated, linear, drop style and narrow chandeliers will add height and a slimming effect to your face.

Or is it Square?? The round shape of hoops or long teardrops or long narrow chandeliers will soften the edges of a square face while also giving some height to your face as well.

No, maybe Oval?? Any type of hoop, circles, triangles and ovals as well as chandeliers and teardrop shapes will enhance an oval face.

Last chance to decide. Heart Shape?? Hoops, teardrop shaped linears and chandeliers that are wider at the bottom than they are at the top will add width to your face and soften a pointed chin.

Still not sure...Well, let's go shopping. You can always just try the earrings on and look in the mirror. That usually helps alot!!
