I Am George
I'm not sure how I "earned" the title of George, because it's not even close to my real name, but nonetheless, I am George now. It's my hubby's "pet" name for me, but it's taken years to settle in to it. Now my "given name" is relegated pretty much to legal documents and serious conversations at home.
In case you're wondering why "George", well you'd have to ask my sweetie... who renames most every one and everything. But I'm pretty sure it means "honey" or "sweetie" or something wonderful. At least that's what I tell myself.
The whole story is archived, but I wanted it as a matter of record, I am George, and the "Gems" are designed by me.
As far as the jewelry goes, this business came out of a bittersweet time in my life when God took a time of sadness and loss and turned it to beauty. Amazing how He does that! As a result, He put the desire in my heart to make beautiful pieces that would not only make women feel pretty outside, but that would reach into the heart to be a touch point for God's love and beauty whereever life may have left a place of wounding or pain.
I pray over each piece as they are being designed and constructed, asking God to touch the wearer and bless them wherever there is need. And He says that if you ask according to His will, He will do it. And isn't that one of the many things Jesus did for us - restored our relationship with the Father in every facet. God's will is to have a love relationship with us and bless us, so I know that when I ask Him, He will do that in every life - the cool thing is that He picks the "how" and the "when"...you have a surprise waiting to happen. Keep your eyes open.
So, truly, Gems by George jewelry has significance besides the fact that you will love your piece. It's not a gimick...it came right out of God's heart for you.

Gems by George Jewelry worn to the White House
Elida's necklace developed in stages, but the picture directly above is the final product. The center stone is Pietersite and though it looks quite crimson in the picture, it was almost irridescent, reflecting either rose or deep purple, depending on the light. Along side were faceted Swarovski crystals. The strands were randomly adorned with garnets, Swarovskis, Czech fire polished crystals and other beads, the overall effect being one of bronze studded with deep wine colors. Shown at top is the necklace in its creation stage, along with the earrings she wore. Elida opted to have the necklace made as a choker, rather than a drape, which was perfect for her.
